Pisiform Fractures

Pisiform Fractures refer to a break in the small, round bone on the pinky side of the wrist, usually from landing on an outstretched palm while skiing, snowboarding, skating, playing football or playing basketball.

Less severe than breaks in the larger carpal bones, this kind of fracture is also marked by tenderness, swelling and restricted motion. Immobilization using casting or splinting followed by occupational therapy usually suffices to heal these types of fractures.
